Sunday Services

You can join us for our Sunday services at 9am, 11am & 5:30pm at Hoyts Melbourne Central.

We gather in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD to sing, pray, hear God’s word, connect with our community and set our eyes to the beauty, truth and relevance of Jesus.

We attract a diverse group of people; including students, families, workers, and many who are visiting or new to Melbourne. Whether you have been a Christian for years or exploring Jesus for the first time, we would love for you to come and gather with us!

Gospel Communities

Throughout the week our Gospel Communities gather online or in homes and cafes all across Melbourne as they do life, love, and mission together. Most groups enjoy a meal and social time before spending time studying the Bible and praying together. There is no set template for when and how groups meet and we are passionate about new groups forming in new places and new formats.

Many people find the people in their Gospel Community become their closest friends and the people who are there in tough times and the good.

Find a Gospel Community that suits your schedule.

New to City on a Hill Melbourne?

We’d love to help you get connected into our church! Whether you’re wanting to attend a newcomers night, join a Gospel Community, learn more about Jesus or simply find out more about our church.

Fill in a connect form below and we will be in touch with you this week.

The Greenhouse

The moment someone puts their faith in Jesus and decides to follow him they become a disciple of Jesus. And yet the call to discipleship is more than just one decision – it’s a lifelong commitment to obey Jesus’, be led by Jesus, become more like Jesus, and lead others to him.

‘The Greenhouse’ is a discipleship program which seeks to intentionally train, edify and equip disciples to become more like Jesus, and help others become more like him too. ‘The Greenhouse’ is designed to offer something for every Christian who calls our church home, whether they are new to the faith, seeking to teach and train others, or somewhere inbetween.

City Kids

We are passionate about seeing the next generation know Jesus and make Jesus known. We want to partner with you in raising little followers of Jesus. So each Sunday City Kids gathers during our 9am service.

If you’re new to City Kids, please come a little early to sign in your children before the service starts and to meet some of the team. Follow the City Kids signage to the appropriate location for your children’s age.

Upon entering Hoyts Melbourne Central, City Kids meets to the left in Lux Lounge for kinder and school aged children (Kinder-Year 7) and next to the candy bar in Lounge 9 for creche (10 month-3 year olds).

City Youth

City Youth is designed to form a community of life, love and maturity that points high-schoolers to the beauty, truth and relevance of Jesus. It’s a space where they can have fun, build friendships, and ask deep questions about life and faith. We meet every Sunday during term time from 4pm at 10 Ievers Tce, Carlton, and then walk down to Hoyts together in time for our 5.30pm evening service. Feel free to come check us out any time and bring a friend!

Many Rooms

Many Rooms is City on a Hill’s mercy ministry – a practical expression of care and support for those who are disadvantaged and vulnerable in our city. It operates across all City on a Hill churches, through our national-based programs; The Living Room and Care Pack Initiative. In addition, our Melbourne churches work together to serve Melbourne’s homeless and disadvantaged. Normally, our Many Rooms Kitchen, provides nutritious meals and community for Melbourne’s homeless and disadvantaged on Friday nights and Saturday mornings. However at the moment our Kitchen is closed and instead we are delivering meals and care packs to the vulnerable we know.

Find out about how you can get involved and explore your gift of service and mercy through Many Rooms.

Baptism

Maybe you already know and follow Jesus?

The Bible tells us that once we do, we ought to get baptised. Baptism is an important and personal display of faith for Christians. It is a public testimony of your commitment to following Jesus. It represents dying to our former life of sin, being made clean and resurrected to a new life in Jesus Christ.

We host baptism services regularly at City on a Hill Melbourne. If you are thinking about being baptised or just have some questions, please connect with us as we’d love to help you take the next steps.
