To support the growing ministry needs of City on a Hill the Digital Communications Coordinator plays a key role in the central communications and Melbourne church teams, supporting the ministry and mission of our City on a Hill churches.

Reporting to the Communications Director (Central), the Digital Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing the content strategy for City on a Hill Melbourne and City on a Hill Movement digital communications. They will oversee the social media accounts and emails for both Melbourne and the Movement to strengthen our mission and ministry and to reach new people with the beauty, truth and relevance of Jesus.

This is a 4 day per week role based in Melbourne.


  1. Developing and overseeing a content strategy for City on a Hill Melbourne and Movement social media and emails, including ideation, copywriting, and scheduling.
  2. Moderating and active engagement in City on a Hill Melbourne and Movement social media accounts.
  3. Managing and maintaining up to date content for the City on a Hill website.
  4. Collaborating with key staff and coordinating media resources, such as sourcing stories, photos, graphic designs, videos, and copy.
  5. Leading and empowering a digital communications volunteer team, including photographers, graphic designers, and copywriters.
  6. Active research and innovation in social media trends to maximise reach and engagement.


  1. A demonstrated love for Jesus, his gospel and mission.
  2. Willingness to commit to the vision and mission of City on a Hill, with active engagement at City on a Hill Melbourne.
  3. Competent in copywriting with high attention to detail.
  4. Proficient in the use of current digital communications tools to support organisational mission and vision.
  5. Excellent professional skills including: administration, time management, project management, organisation and team leadership.
  6. Strategic thinker and innovator.
  7. Relevant tertiary education in communications or relevant field (Desirable).
  8. Experience in a digital communications or marketing agency (Desirable).
  9. Experience in using Adobe Creative Suite (Desirable).
  10. Experience in photography (Desirable).


All City on a Hill staff must hold a current Victorian Working with Children Check, a National Police History Check that returns no disclosed outcomes that would exclude you from the role, and uphold the standards outlined in the Anglican Church of Australia Faithfulness in Service code of personal behaviour for church workers.
