City on a Hill is committed to equipping God’s people with the desire to serve as ambassadors for Christ, and to take His message of salvation to the people of Melbourne, Geelong and West. Our passion is to see believers welcomed into a loving fellowship, where they can fully experience knowing Jesus (deeply, satisfyingly and joyfully), and grow in spiritual maturity. The City on a Hill School of Ministry (COAH SoM) offers a range of courses. Check out our Facebook page to see what's on offer.Training Opportunities
City on a Hill prides itself on being a community–focused church where the people are encouraged to become actively involved in serving each other and our city.
Jesus calls us to impact our society by being ‘the salt of the earth’ and the ‘light of the world’ (Matthew 5:13–16). We are to work together to serve our Lord, using our God–given gifts and abilities (Romans 12:5–6).Serve
At City on a Hill, we recognise the value of strong Christian leadership, and are committed to raising and developing leaders within the church, the community and the home. We are committed to identifying, nurturing and supporting those who are led by Jesus, lead like Jesus, and lead others to Jesus, by providing the structure and resources to facilitate this. We do this through specialised Bible courses, mentoring and training sessions, as well as key events and annual retreats.Leadership Opportunities
City on a Hill is dedicated to becoming a church–planting church. We exist today because a faithful few believed that God had not finished building His kingdom. New churches form part of God’s perfect plan to reach His people throughout the world, and we want to support Him by becoming a church–planting church, that plants church–planting churches. Although this sounds like a bold and challenging vision, we know that this can be achieved because we serve a faithful God who can do more than we ever ask of Him, and through whom all things are possible!
The Advance Church Planting Network, established by Pastor Guy Mason, is a network of devoted Christians from various churches and denominations who share a passion for Jesus Christ, and who wish to pursue training in church–planting. This network offers support and prayer, and includes coaching sessions at which local, national and international church leaders provide teaching on church–planting, leadership and the gospel.
Guy Mason is a member of Acts 29, a church–planting network. Over the last ten years, Acts 29 has seen upwards of 400 churches planted in the United States alone, as well as networks of churches planted in multiple countries. The Mission of Acts 29 is to band together Christian, Evangelical, Missional and Reformed churches, who, for the sake of Jesus and the gospel, plant new churches and replant dead and dying churches across the United States and the world. This work is done in obedience to the great commission (Matthew 28:18–20), with the goal of seeing millions of lives changed by the power of the gospel. The president of Acts 29 is Matt Chandler (Village Church).
